One of the UK’s most influential rock photographers, Michael Spencer Jones was responsible for the images on the first three best-selling Oasis albums. Supersonic: The Oasis Photographs documents Spencer Jones’ travels with the band on tour and in the studio, revealing the stories behind the classic cover shots and providing a first-hand insight into the life of Oasis and the making of a rock’n’roll legend.
This collector’s edition has a limited print run of 1,500 copies and each book is individually numbered.
‘The sleeves featured in this book, along with a host of unpublished and previously-unseen material, catalogue the meteoric rise of Oasis from my first photo session with them at Out Of The Blue studios, Manchester in 1993 up until the recording of Be Here Now and the subsequent release of All Around The World in 1998; in many quarters affectionately referred to as ‘the glory years’.
My aim has been to create a photographic document of my work with Oasis which hitherto had not been available. I have included many of the stories behind the covers and some of my personal recollections. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I have enjoyed putting it together’. – Michael Spencer Jones
