This Day In Music Podcasts

Sony Radio Academy Award winner Pete Mitchell is the voice behind This Day in Music’s podcasts – his music documentaries have been aired all over the world. Pete worked as a radio presenter for Manchester’s Piccadilly Radio, Key 103, Virgin Radio, BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, XFM and Virgin Radio.

Sadly, Pete died suddenly in March 2020. A consummate professional, a great broadcaster, a proper music aficionado and above all else a really good bloke, with so many tales to share. We all miss him.

The list of musicians Pete interviewed reads like a ‘who’s who’ in music and includes: Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Morrissey, Lou Reed, Elvis Costello, Brian Wilson, Smokey Robinson, Pixies, Oasis, The Killers, New Order, R.E.M, Amy Winehouse, Bobbie Womack, David Bowie, Jimmy Page, Nile Rodgers, Simple Minds, The Cure, Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, Earth, Wind & Fire, Bootsy Collins, ABC, Johnny Marr, Squeeze, James, Happy Mondays, Gregory Porter, Primal Scream, John Legend, Gloria Jones, Ronnie Spector, Noddy Holder, Paul Weller, Jarvis Cocker, Dave Grohl, Jack White, Courtney Love, Stone Roses and many more.
